National Drug Strategy
The government launched the National Drugs Strategy (NDS) in 1998, with the single objective of reducing the harm caused by illegal drugs. The strategy was updated in 2002 and the government went on to publish its “Tackling Drugs Changing Lives” progress report in 2004.
Lancashire Drug & Alcohol Action Team is the body responsible for delivering the NDS in Lancashire. It’s a partnership of public and voluntary sector agencies, working together to reduce the harm that substance misuse brings to the community.
